Thinking of getting into 4WD Camping and touring? Or thinking of planning an overland expedition somewhere in the world, but not sure if it is for you? Or perhaps you would like to evaluate some top quality off road equipment and accessories before committing to buy?

Higher Adventure hire out 4×4 Land Rover Defenders equipped with roof tents and everything you need to enjoy an overland adventure. From a two-day micro-adventure in The Lake District to two weeks exploring the Scottish Highlands, these vehicles can take you there.
Few vehicles deliver the spirit of freedom and adventure like the iconic Land Rover Defender and Higher Adventure’s expedition-equipped vehicles come with roof tents, awning, fridge, stove, table and chairs, utensils and more, everything that you need and nothing that you don’t.
The company can provide three door Defender 90 Station Wagon (for two people) and the five door Defender 110 Utility (for up to five). They are high-spec XS models with rugged 2.2 Turbo Diesel engines, heated front seats, air-con and heated windscreen.

Chris Barrington of Higher Adventure explains that “If you have never driven a Defender before, It’s an experience you’ll never forget and may require a certain adjustment in your driving style. But you’ll quickly learn to deal with their quirks and they’ll soon put a smile on your face, particularly when the going gets tough. With high and low gear ratios and differential lock, nothing can beat them in the rough stuff.”

The vehicles are comprehensively equipped, including top of the range Stealth roof tents from South African company Eezi Awn, Big Country drawer units, National Luna fridges, and Partner Steel stoves from the USA. And pretty much everything else – apart from bedding and food – that you need to go on your own adventure.

You can also hire a Prairie Tent from Dave Ellis Tents of Colorado if you need more sleeping space than the two-person roof tent and a range of optional add-ons include a motorcycle trailer, bike rack, awning sides and portable toilet.

If you book a vehicle from Higher Adventure you can pick up your vehicle from them (they are located minutes off J13 of the M1) or let them deliver a vehicle to your choice of location. If you are flying to the UK they can deliver/collect a vehicle to/from most UK airports.
