APB Trading – Land Rover Specialists and Overlanding and Expedition Equipment Outfitters.

Born in the Worcestershire countryside and seeing neighbours and friends using their trusty Land Rovers as work horses, Phillip Bond, founder and Managing Director of APB, started working from an old mill repairing and selling Land Rover parts and second hand Land Rovers.

Phillip has spent 20 years competing in Specialist Land Rover & 4×4 off-road events with AWDC (All Wheel Drive Club) (such events as the Rallye des Cimes & Plains & Vallies both in France)

In the beginning, the business was mainly operated during evenings and weekends as a hobby business, but demand grew, and in the early 1970’s APB outgrew the old mill and moved to a larger unit on Hartlebury Trading Estate, located between Worcester and Kidderminster. It is from this location that the business grew and from which it still operates today. (By coincidence family history has repeated itself, a relative of Phill Bond’s was the first person to sell Land Rovers in Africa based in Nairobi, Kenya).

Following the move to bigger premises,the APB workshops serviced and repaired Land Rovers, and supplied vehicle parts and accessories from the walk-in shop. Daily deliveries to businesses and farms as far away as Wales were made and a mail order business expanded throughout the UK and across the world.

Back in the early 2000s APB became the sole UK importers for a number of South African (a country where adventure travel was born) companies.

APB stock many products which have been imported from South Africa including Eezi Awn K9 (the pioneers of the roof tent), National Luna (the investors of a fridge for the transportation of vaccines for world health organisations), Escape Gear (high quality canvas seat covers), Bushtech (superior quality heavy load canopy tops) and Campmor (high quality canvas ground tents and many more products).

Today APB has evolved to take account of the changing demands for the variety of 4×4 vehicles available. Also the camping and expedition leisure activities are growing increasingly popular. APB workshops now service and repair a variety of 4×4 vehicles along with vehicle rebuilds and preparation for expeditions.

APB Workshops carry out Land Rover & 4×4 vehicle servicing, repairs & M.O.T’s, vehicle overland travel & expedition preparation, specialist vehicle preparation, waxoyling and rustproofing. Their parts and warehouse department supplies parts, spares and adventure travel gear & equipment to a wide range of countries throughout the world.
