Visit the Faroe Islands – Faroe Islands Tourism – Touring and Camping

The TURAS team drove and got a ferry to the Faroe Islands a couple of years ago, on the way to Iceland, it was a wonderful place to visit.  We toured the island and camped there for a few days.

The Faroe islands are made up of eighteen islands located half way between Norway and Iceland

Camping on the Faroes is only permitted in designated campsites we recommend staying at the Torshaven campsite, it’s a perfect base to explore these unique islands.

You can no longer get the Ferry from Stranraer in Scotland to the Faroes. You can however get a Ferry to the Faroes from Denmark on the ‘Norrona’ it sails from Hirtshals at the top of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark, to Iceland via the Faroe Islands.

The ferry sails on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the Saturday route includes a 3 day stop over in the Faroe Islands.

The direct route entails two overnights on the Ferry, as does the Faroe’s version, except with this Saturday departure, you spend 3 additional nights on the breathtaking and unspoiled Faroe Islands.
